Onshore Oil Spill Response Training
This course is designed to meet the general training requirements for response personnel, members of an Incident Management Team (IMT), and the Qualified Individual (QI) in an onshore environment. The following topics will be covered:
- Spill reporting procedures
- Predicting spill movement
- Response equipment selection and deployment
- Inland response tactics – recovery, protection, mitigation, cleanup, and disposal
- Incident Management Team (IMT) responsibilities
- NIMS Incident Command System (ICS) Fundamentals
- Incident Management – Reactive and Proactive Phases
- Incident Command Post – Physical and Virtual
- Response Planning – Developing an Incident Action Plan
- Community Impact – Public and Environment
- Training and Exercise Requirements – PREP
- OPA 90 Liability for Responsible Party (RP)
- Role of Government – Federal, State, and Local
- Regulatory Updates
This training will also meet the QI regulatory training requirements for the following plans:
- USCG Response Plan for Oil Facilities –

- EPA Facility-Specific Response Plan –

- EPA Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan –

This training should be sufficient to meet any state and/or local requirements as well, but please contact JCC to confirm based upon the specific jurisdiction involved.
