MMS Proposed Rule - Cost Recovery

The MMS has published a Notice of Proposed Rule in the November 14, 2005 edition of the Federal Register that proposes new fees to process certain plans, applications, and permits and seeks additional comments based on an Advanced Notice of Public Rulemaking published in March 2005. That ANPR announced a regulatory initiative regarding cost recovery for activities conducted by the MMS for OCS operations.

The proposed rule addresses cost recovery for activities that are in addition to the activities identified in the August 25, 2005 final rule. The comment period for the proposed rule is November 14, 2005 to January 13, 2006. The following table represents the proposed cost recovery fees for which the MMS is currently seeking comment.
