MMS District Offices Operational With Limited Telephonic Capabilities

The MMS District offices are operational with limited phone capabilities.

The New Orleans District and Regional Offices are closed indefinitely.

MMS is fully operational under the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Offices have been set up in Houston, Texas. Report all incidents caused by Hurricane Katrina to the COOP office at (281) 987-6876 or (281) 987-6865, or fax to (281) 987-6885.

All MMS e-mail is down. Communication will have to be through phone or fax. MMS is working to have their TIMS and email systems up and running as soon as possible.

Pipeline Section: Alex Alvarado is working out of the MMS Dallas Office. Should you need MMS for emergency repairs you can reach him at (214) 640-9041. (Alex is using Allen McDaniel’s workspace, therefore voice mail will have Allen’s name on it.) Manny Gagliano is at the COOP in Houston.

All inspection functions are being handled through the Lafayette District office.

Weekly Activity Reports (WAR’s) and any well reporting will be on paper until e-well is r unning again. It is anticipated that e-well will be down for months.. Any wells that were previously started on e-well will not be able to be converted back from paper to e-well.

USCG
The Coast Guard OCS Group in Morgan City is requesting USCG form 2692 for each OCS platform that is damaged or missing. The contact is Ray Carrera, fax number is (985) 380-5362.

LA. DEQ
Louisiana’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) issued an immediate order exempting emergency efforts dealing with environmental statutes and regulations. Please go to LIOGA’a website www.lioga.com to download a copy of this order.

If a decision is made on your part to take emergency action which otherwise would be a rule violation, DEQ directs that you should document the decision and action thoroughly.

OOPS
The O’Brien’s Command Post in Slidell took a direct hit from Hurricane Katrina and is under water. Most of the staff have re-located to Houston and are operating out of the Houston office. The Slidell Command Post phone numbers are temporarily down – please utilize the following contacts in the event of an oil spill emergency:
