MMS Final Rule – Permit Fees Will be Imposed

This serves as a reminder that new MMS Service Fes will go into effect on September 1, 2006.
MMS published a final rule on July 19, 2006, imposing new MMS fees to process certain plans, applications, and permits. For example, the fee for a proposed Exploration Plan with 5 surface locations will be $16,250.
If you are planning on submitting permits in the near future, you may wish to submit them before September 1, 2006 to avoid the new fees.
If you are a JCCRegs.com subscriber, all fees will be added to the Plans and Permits Guide on September 1st.
