What is SafeGulf?
SafeGulf is the basic safety training standard developed by four major offshore oil companies:
BP, Shell, Chevron and ExxonMobil. All contractors who perform offshore work for these operators must:

Complete training in accordance with SafeGulf approved curriculum

Carry a SafeGulf Identification Card (these cards have no expiration date)

Can I test-out instead of taking this class?
Yes! J. Connor Consulting, Inc offers test-outs. A score of 90 (out of 100) is necessary for SafeGulf certification. You must meet the SafeGulf or SafeLandUSA requirements for previous safety training in order to be eligible for a test-out.

How can we receive this training?
J. Connor Consulting, Inc. is an ASC Accredited SafeGulf and PEC Accredited SafeLandUSA Training Provider. Our
training facility is located in Houston, Texas. We are also available to train your personnel at a location
convenient to your operations.
How much does the training cost?
SafeGulf training costs $250 per student when taught at our facility or
a training facility provided by the client. SafeLandUSA costs $350. If
you have previously completed SafeGulf training, you may attend only the
SafeLandUSA specific training for $100.
The minimum fee for an offsite class will be $1250 for SafeGulf, or $1750
for SafeLandUSA, which covers the tuition for up to five students. Regular
class fees apply for each additional student over the five. This price does
not include travel time and expenses for the instructor.
How long does the training take?
The training class is approximately 8.5 hours long for SafeGulf, 10.5 hours for SafeLandUSA.
At the end of the class, there will be a one-hour test. An 80% score on the test is required to
receive certification.

Classes are taught in English. In order to participate, all students must have a verbal and written understanding of the English language. We do not supply translators.

SafeGulf and SafeLand training begin at 8:00 and last until approximately 4:30.
For SafeLand certification, training continues the next morning from 8:00 until approximately 11:00 am.

Due to class size limitations, reservations are highly recommended. Classes
start at 08:00. Please arrive 30 minutes early for registration.
If classes are postponed for any reason, students will be notifed several days in advance.
Classes and testing are held at JCC (Map).
