Performance Measures Due to MMS March 31st

The Minerals Management Service recently issued NTL 2006-N03 as a reminder for operators to submit Performance Measures by March 31, 2006. Performance Measures are used by MMS to quantify the success of offshore operators’ safety and environmental management systems.

Participation in the performance measures data collection effort is voluntary. MMS has stated that the value of this information is directly related to the quality of the information received and the widespread participation among OCS operators.

Background

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) issued NTL 2002-N01 to collect data on an annual basis on form MMS-131 related to a set of performance measures developed by a joint government/industry workgroup.

The data consists of OSHA injury numbers and total man-hours worked by both company and contract personnel categorized by production, drilling and construction activities. The information is to be submitted to the below address using Form MMS-131. The form and more information can be found on the MMS website at: http://www.mms.gov/perfmeas/
